How do one click payments with authorization and capture work?

Receiving payments one click with the authorization and capture scheme, consists of storing your client’s card data securely, guaranteeing the availability of funds and having the opportunity to execute the capture of a determined amount until the service is completed. It also allows you to capture a different amount than the original authorization.

Process steps

The one click payment with authorization and capture, consists of three stages: tokenize the card data, authorize the amount and capture or release the funds.

Autorización y captura para pagos a un clic

Card registration

1. Selection of the payment method

On your website or app, the user selects the payment method. Make sure that the payer is clear that his card will be enrolled, i.e., his data will be stored for later collection when required.

2. Data Entry

At this stage the user provides the card information that will be used to pay. Your website or app must verify that the card information is correct (for example, that the expiration date has not expired, or that the card number obeys Luhn’s algorithm). At this step there is still no guarantee that the card is valid.

3. Sending data to Kushki

Kushki will receive the data and will verify if there are sufficient funds for the account associated with the card through a validation charge, which will verify if the card is active and in balance, this charge will be automatically reversed.

4. Notification

At this stage we will show you the result of the card enrollment so that you can display it on screen to the user.

1. Authorization of the amount

The merchant requests Kushki to authorize the amount of the customer’s card.

2. Funds Verification

Kushki processes authorization with the issuer, verifying funds availability. If this process is successful, retains that amount on the customer’s card to guarantee it to the merchant.

3. Notification

Kushki returns a response from the authorization process.

Capture or release of funds

1. Execution of the charge

Once you have authorized the amount of your customer’s card, you can request the collection or release of the authorized balance.

2. Notification of transaction status

At this stage you will be notified of the status of the transaction. You can receive these notifications to a webhook that you expose for Kushki to consume. You also have the Kushki console to check the transactions along with the detail of each transaction and the status.
